CLARRIE GORDON INJURED FINGER AMPUTATED (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 25. The New Zealand professional welter-weight boxing champion, Clarrie Gordon, had a finger of the right hand amputated at the Middlemore Hospital last night. His finger was crushed in an accident at Westfield yesterday afternoon. It is unlikely that he will be able to fight again this year.
