STOCK EXCHANGES NEW GOVERNMENT LOAN AWAITED A considerably unproved turnover was recorded on the Christchurch Stock Ex- j change yesterday, although in point of actual sales losses outnumbered gams. Business was well spread. There was a good inquiry for all issues of Government stocks at conservative rates. The Prime Minister is to announce the terms of the new loan this evening. For the loan to be attractive on the share market the terms will need to be more favourable than those which have obtained in late years. The attractions that can be offeied are an increased interest rate, a reduction in the ’■ate of unearned income tax, or the issue of the loan at a slight discount. An increase in the rate of interest is not anticipated. DOMINION TRANSACTIONS CHRISTCHURCH
