EVENING TRADE CLASSES

NO SPECIAL LEAVE FOR ARMY TRAINEES Youths who would normally be taking evening trade courses at the Christchurch Technical College, but who :.re now undergoing military training at Burnham Military Camp, will not be granted leave to continue with their week-night classes during their 14 weeks’ training. It would be too much of a burden on the lads to have to attend college after a strenuous day at the camp, particularly when three nights a week were occupied with the course here, said the Commandant of the Burnham Camp (LeiutenantColonel J. A. Worsnop). Besides there was the question of the distance involved.
