YOUNG GIRL SHOT IN ARM

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 25. Maggie Hapata, aged 12. of Mangamuka, was found shot in the right elbow late this afternoon. She is now in the Rawene Hospital in a serious condition, due tb loss of blood. The girl, with her brother, aged 13, was in the home of Mr Hanana Albert, at Mangamuka. The boy, who was in the back of the house, heard a shot from the front and found his sister lying on the floor crying, with a gunshot wound in her right elbow. It is believed that the only gun in the house was an old shotgun, which was found in the rafters.
