LYTTELTON NEWS

MORE POWER ECONOMIES WANTED Last week Lyttelton exceeded its power quota by 5 per cent., said the Mayor (Mr F. G. Briggs) yesterday. A saving of 7J per cent, was made, instead of the required 12J per cent. Mr Briggs appealed to consumers to economise still further, otherwise more substantial cuts would have to be made. Some consumers were still using radiators in their homes and in their offices. This should be discontinued.
