FIRST LOSS OF TOUR

AGAINST M.C.C. LONDON. May 23. The M.C.C? to-day beat th? West Indies by 118 runs. Th s was the tourists’ first defeat of its tour. The M.C.C. carried its second innings score from seven.lor 207 to 247, leaving the West Indies to get 268 in 280 minut s. The tourists made a good start, having 33 runs on the board at lunch for the loss of one wicket. At er the adjournment they collapsed baaly and were all out for 147. Sims bowled sol-ndidly and finished with the fine axerage of seven for 65 off 21 overs. He had the Wert indies batsmen on the defensive throughout. Scores:—
