Drainage Board Staff.— “ Shortage f staff for work on open drains has ecome acute and the present staff >mprises a foreman and five men inead of 10 men, the normal compleient,” the works committee reported the Christchurch Drainage Board on uesday evening. “Repeated adversements in the papers have brought a results.” The secretary (Mr R. R. enior) was instructed to explore the assibility of employing Dutch immirants.
