STEEL SUPPLIES IN BRITAIN

ALLOCATION BY STATE TO CEASE (Roc. 9 p.m.) LONDON. May 22. The steel distribution scheme, under which most British steel consuming industries had supplies allocated by the Government, will end immediately, according to an announcement by the Minister of Supply (Mr George Strauss). Mr Strauss said that the necessary regulation of steel exports will bo made by arrangement between the Government and the steel industry.
