POLICE FORCE PROMOTIONS
NEW SUB-INSPECTOR FOR CHRISTCHURCH From Our Own Reporter WELLINGTON. May 23. Senior-Sergeant A. Johnston, of Wellington, has been promoted to subinspector and transferred to Christchurch. This was artiong a number of promotions and transfers announced by the Police Department to-day. Others were:— Sergeant S. J. Lush, of New Plymouth, promoted to senior-sergeant and transferred to Wellington. Sergeant R. Griffith, of Taihape, promoted to senior-sergeant, and transferred to Auckland. Senior-Sergeant D. R. Sugrue, of Masterton, promoted to sub-inspector and transferred to Wellington. Sergeant W. G. Bennett, of Auckland, promoted to senior-sergeant and transferred to Hamilton. Senior-Detective P. J. Nalder, promoted to sub-inspector, and to remain at police headquarters. Sergeant E. W. Straffon, of Auckland, promoted to senior-sergeant, and to remain at Auckland. Sergeant A. Carlyon, of Wanganui, promoted to senior-sergeant and transferred to Wellington. Senior-Sergeant M. E. Parker, of , Wellington, transferred to Masterton.
