Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: an anti-cyclone covers New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m.: light variable winds; weather fine, apart from local early morning fog. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for t.ie West Coast of the South Island:— Light to moderate variable winds; weather, cloudy and cool. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine and sunny, after a frost of 2.8 degrees. The maximum temperature was 52.1 degrees. At midnight, the sky was overcast and there was a light wind from the east-north-east. The temperature w s 48.4 degrees. The barometer, at 39.163 inches (1021.4 millibars), was steady. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 1 a.m.: nil. Meteorological observations taken at the Geophysical Ob-ervatory, Christchurch, on Monday, May 22:
