“RADIO CITY” FOR B.B.C.
WORK TO BEGIN SOON (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, May 18. The British Broadcasting Corporation has announced that work will start soon upon the construction of a large group of ultra-modern buildings on the site of the former White City Exhibition in north-west London, &will. in course of time, become ’s “Radio City.” • The first instalment of the work, Which will involve an expenditure of between £4,000,000 and £5.000,000, will provide headquarters for the 8.8. C. television services. These are
a l present established at Alexandra Palace, but they will be transferred gradually to new premises before the io-«f andra Palace lease expires in The new “Radio City” will cover an •rea of 13 acres.
