SCHOOL-TO-SCHOOL SCHEME During the last few weeks the Food for Britain depot at the King Edward Barracks has been busy packing the gift food for Britain sent In by the schools of Christchurch for forwarding to the United Kingdom under the school-to-school scheme, says a statement issued by the Christchurch district Aid for Britain Committee. Nearly one ton of foodstuffs has been packed from the schools into 51 cases containing 2210 tins and packets of a total weight of 21661 b. The value of the parcels is nearly £174. In addition to this amount over one ton of food was received from the Ashburton district, nine cases from the Returned Services’ Association, and four from the Christchurch Rotary Club, and other smaller amounts.
