RADIO MAST DRIFTS ASHORE I All that has been recovered from the Harvard aircraft which crashed in the sea off Birdling’s Flat on Wednesday with two cadet pilots is the small ' Ik- 10 . S ast ' . Th j s . mast . which is only about three feet long, was found near .the outlet to Lake. Forsyth. It would break off easily when the aircraft crashed and apparently floated along the coast. Navy and private launches yesterday earned out sweeps in an attempt to locate the wreckage and recover the bodies of Cadet Pilots H. L. J. Serjeant and P. H. Callahan, but they had no success, and operations ceased after 5 p.m. The search will be continued to-day and, if the wreckage is found the Royal New Zealand Air Force will take over the task of getting it ashore. bquadron Leader R.
