OVERSEAS LOAN POSSIBLE

MR HOLLAND REPLIES TO QUESTION From Our Own Reporter WELLINGTON, April 20. New Zealand may raise a loan overseas to build up its overseas funds. This was indicated by the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) in reply to an inquiry to-night. Mr Holland said that his announcement of the Government’s intention to raise an internal loan did not mean that the Government would restrict its loan -operations to the New Zealand market. In due course consideration would be given to the raising of a loan overseas to pay for essential imports of capital goods such as hydro-electric machinery. No decision on this question had yet been made.
