ITALIAN TRADE WITH BRAZIL
ARRANGEMENTS IN NEW TREATY EXCHANGE OF GOODS (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, April 20. Italy and Brazil have signed a trade treaty providing for the exchange of goods worth nearly £40,000,000. In addition, arrangements have been made for a payments system between the two countries, and for leading Italian firms to establish branches in Brazil. Italy will export food products, textiles, chemicals, machinery, and some raw materials, and Brazil will send in exchange coffee, raw cptton. oil seeds, and timber. Italian firms will establish in Brazil plants for making cellulose, for preparing artificial manures, and for oil refining.
