Forecast to 5 p.m.: light to moderate winds from a northerly quarter; weather, fair, with moderate temperatures. Further outlook: cloudy. The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate winds from a northerly quarter; weather cloudy, with some early morning drizzle; temperatures moderate. Further outlook: fair to CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday ; was fine and sunny. The maximum temperature was 62.2 degrees. At midnight it was foggy. The temperature was 38.1 degrees. The barometer, at 30213 in (1023.1 millibars), was rising rapidly.
