MASTER PRINTERS’ FEDERATION
(New Zealand Press Association) TIMARU, March 16. The forty-third annual meeting of the Federation of Master Printers of New Zealand dealt with many remits affecting the commercial printing industry. Particular emphasis was placed on the acute shortage of workers. It was stated that some provisions of the apprenticeship order were restrictive in their application and prevented the entry to the trade jf some youths offering for apprenticeship, and strong representations on this subject will be made.
Officers were elected as follows: president, Mr J. M. Somerville (Dunedin); immediate past president. Mr H. W Osborn (Wellington); vice-presi-dent Mr B. R. Lankshear (Wellington members of council.
