STEAM ELECTRICAL PLANT AT AUCKLAND
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 15. The Cabinet to-day approved of a recommendation by the Minister in charge of the State Hydro-electric Department (Mr W. S. Goosman) that the English firm of Preece, Cardew, and Rider should be approached to ascertain whether it was willing to send a representative and assist the department in formulating plans for an additional 30.000-kilowatt steam unit at King's wharf, Auckland. Mr Goosman said it had been agreed that the firm should be asked if it was willing to undertake the commission and if so on what terms. The firm was the consultant when the existing steam plants were installed at King's wharf.
