AUSTRALIAN TEAM ARRIVES
MONTH’S TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright)
AUCKLAND, Feb. 7. Nine members of the Australian surf life-saving team arrived at Auckland today for a tour of New Zealand. They are: J. Boast, A. Parlett, J. Mills, A. Johnston, R. Johnson, L. Lazarus, D. Creawick, D. Morrison, and R. Matheson. The tenth member of the team, S. Wilkes, will arrive later. With the team are the manager, Mr V. Besomo, and the honorary general secretary of the Australian Surf Life-saving Association (Mr George Millar). The team will take part in the Piha lifesaving carnival on Sunday. It will then go on tour to Gisborne, Wellington, Christchurch, Westport, Greymouth, Foxton, Wanganui, ana New Plymouth, leaving New Zealand on March 8. The . comprehensive itinerary Includes three tests against the New Zealand surf team at Pih'a, Auckland, on February 12, at Titahi Bay, Wellington, on February 19, and at New Brighton on February 26. The New Zealand team to meet the Australians will be:— Junior.—P. Bevin (Piha), P. McNally (South Brighton). Senior.—J. T. Clark (Maranui), N. R. Chambers (New Brighton), R. J. Simmons (New Brighton), E. D. Wright (Piha), M. Fearon (South Brighton), R. B. Oliver (Maranui), J. Watt (Lyall Bay), J. Ryan (Lyall Bay). Reserve: D. K. Evans (Maranui). The captain of the team is J. T. Clark and the manager Mr B. J. Mclvor.
