LABOUR MANIFESTO FOR SCOTLAND
(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, February 6. The drift from the Highlands has been stopped, according to the Labour Party’s Scottish manifesto, “For a’ That,” which was published to-day With the provision of suitable work, better housing and amenities, and improved transport, the north cart be repeopled. the manifesto says. It claims that Labour has brought about better wages for agricultural workers and has enabled the order books of intelligent and enterprising industrialists to ‘ be filled.
Gift by Ana Khan.— The Aga Khan has given 350.000 rupees in Pakistan currency (about £35,000) to set up an economic research centre for Moslem countries. Details of the project have not been announced.—London, Feb. 6.
