WORLD TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

(Red. 7 p.m.) LONDON, February 6. Richard Bergmann (Britain), who toured Australia and New Zealand last year, won the world men’s singles table tennis championship at Budapest when he beat F. Soos (Hungary), 12-21, 15-18. 21-7, 21-14, 21-13. Bergmann won the world title in 1937, 1938, and 1948.

Two British girls, Misses Helen Elliot and Dora Geregi, won the women’s doubles title.
