KASHMIR DISPUTE

INDIA DENIES INTENTION TO GO TO WAR NEW DELHI, February 6. The Indian Prime Minister* (Pandit Nehru) to-day denied that India was contemplating going to war to solve the Kashmir dispute. He told a press conference that India was concerned solely with defence and that she would never attempt -to settle any dispute by war. Pandit Nehru told the Indian Parliament that the Pakistan Prime Minister (Mr Liaquat Ali Khan) had promised a “considered reply” to the Indian proposal for a joint anti-war declaration.
