FIRST COURSE FOR TERRITORIALS

N.C.O.’S IN CAMP AT BURNHAM

The first general refresher course for Territorial Force non-commis-sioned officers is now being held at Burnham military camp. The course, which commenced last Sunday and will conclude on Friday, is being attended by 214 men, including a large number who served with distinction during World War 11. At headquarters of Southern Military District it was stated yesterday that the men were of an excellent type, and Captain S. L. Hatch, deputy-assistant director of the Army Education Welfare Service, said that members or the course had given highly satisfactory results when they were submitted to the Army’s personal selection procedure. All corps are represented at the course, which embraces instruction in practically all aspects of Army operation, including drill, organisation, signals, equipment, rifle training and shooting, other infantry weapons, artillery organisation, and modern armour. The commander of Southern Military District, Brigadier G. B. Parkinson, will be present at a ceremonial march past of the course tor-morrow morning.
