Former R.A.F. Personnel.—A further draft of 38 former members of the Royal Air Force are at Burnham military camp awaiting posting to Royal New Zealand Air Force stations. These men, who arrived in the Atlantis last month, are mainly qualified in technical trades, and are among several hundred former Royal Air Force personnel who have arrived in New Zealand in the last year or two. They serve with the Royal New Zealand Air Force for a minimum period of four years. Tipped Cigarettes The tipped cigarettes introduced m Britain last October have been given sparse welcome, in spite of the economy of them. They sell for 2s 2d and 2s lid for 20, instead of 2s 7d and 3s 6d. One reason for the restricted popularity of tipped cigarettes is that they form such a small percentage of the cigarettes on the markets that there is small chance of acceptance through force of habit.
