ANNUAL EXPENDITURE EXCEEDS £ll5O

A survey of the last 12 months’ activities of the South Island Tuberculosis Association (Northern Group). Inc., shows that over £ll5O was spent during this period on the welfare of tuberculosis patients and their families in Christchurch. Assistance for clothing, food, transport, board, furnishings, holidays, etc., accounted for the major proportion of this sum, while over £lOO was used in giving the children of the Fresh Air Home a Christmas party and in providing gifts for patients and parcels for a number of ex-patients. Unbeknown to most the splendid work of the association goes on unceasingly and unsparingly. All patients are written to upon admittance and discharge, asking them in what way the association can help. Regular weekly visits to the Coronation Hospital are made by members of the sanatorium service committee. This work is undertaken most willingly by active members, but the necessary funds must come almost entirely from annual subscriptions, private donations, or through the annual street appeal. If your generosity will extend to an annual membership of only 5s per year, this should be posted to, and will be acknowledged by, the secretaries, J .O. Box 696, Christchurch. . The street appeal will be held this year on Wednesday. February 15, and more collectors for this day are urgently needed. The association would be grateful if you can assist. Please write to P.O.
