CHINESE CIVIL WAR

NATIONALIST CASUALTIES ESTIMATED HONG KONG, Feb. 5. The Chinese Communist radio in Peiping said to-day that the Chinese Nationalist losses in the last three years and a half of civil war totalled 7,445,621 men, of whom more than 1,700,000 were lost in the second half of last year. The Communists now control 8,474,000 square kilometres of China with a total population of 460,530,000, according to the radio.
