OFFICIAL FORECASTS "The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON. February 5. The weather forecast for Canterbury - Issued at S p.m. by the Meteorological > Office. Wellington, and dealing with the ? 30 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a south-westerly air current is flowing over New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. Monday: moderate south-west winds predominating. A few scattered showers, but weather fcr the most part fair. Temperatures cooler. Further outlook: fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate south-west winds. A few Isolated showers, but weather fair to fine. Temperatures moderate. Further outlook: fine. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and warm, with a moderate north-west wind in the morning. At midnight the sky was almost clear and there was a fresh southwest wind. The temperature was 48.7 degrees. The barometer, at 29.590 inches (1002.0 millibars), was rising rapidly.
