WAICOE’S SURPRISE WIN IN CUP (New Zealand Press Association) „ INVERCARGILL, Feb. 5. There were several major upsets at the Winton Jockey Ciuo's meeting on baturuay. The double combination, Waicoe in the Winton Cup and Naugnty Lady in the Flying Handicap, returned a dividend of £222 Is for £l. Shelbash, the outsider of a Held of 23 in the Trial Plate, won his division to record a win dividend of £ll4 13s. There was a large attendance and racing was held on a firm track. The totalisator handled £35,055 10s (including £2suß on the aouole machine), as compared with £2»',bu7 last year, an. increase of £524.*. Double Deck Destroyed I Double Deck fractured a shoulder in the early stages of the Post Handicap at Riccarton on Saturday and had to be destroyed.
