EXCURSION TO KAIKOURA

CHRISTCHURCH RAILWAY SPORTS CLUB

A record number of 524 passengers travelled to Kaikoura and the coastal district yesterday on an excursion train sponsored by the Christchurch Railways Traffic Sports Club. The weather was ideal. Bowling, croquet and tennis matches we F e P layed against Kaikoura clubs and 60 or 70 persons went on bus tours to points of scenic and historic interest. Heavy demands were made on the catering services in the town throughout the day. The train left Kaikoura on ret'rn to Christchurch at 6 p.m. This is the second country excursion the club has run. the first nnntfrl Tu J 3St yeaF ' HiS GX ‘ that another excursion will be run in March.
