CHRISTCHURCH CLUB OPENS SEASON The Christchurch Club opened its 1950 season on Saturday with a fourball Stableford aggregate match. Results were as follows:—W. A. Caldwell and C. W. Caldwell, 71 points; J. G. Mangan and A. R. Bond, 71 points; J. Oakley and J. Prendergast, 69 points. NAVAL OFFICERS’ TOURNAMENT A tournament was held by the Naval Officers Association at the Rawhiti Club on Saturday. A round played in the morning for the president’s trophy was won by D. F. Milligan, 87. 18—69. Other scores w , ere: r“ A - Brun t, 85, 15—70; B. W. Nich--89, 19—70; W. D. Armstrong, 73, scr—--73. A bogey match played in the afternoon resulted as follows:—A. Results of a single Stableford match held by the Waitikiri Club on Saturday were as foUows:—J. Soper 36 points, D. L. Woon 36. J. H. Scott 34, L. E. Graham 34.

HAGLEY CLUB Best scores in a four-ball bogey competition played on Saturday by the Hagley Club were as foUows:— D. W. Strong (14) and D. McSherry (14), 5 up; H. Hooper (8) and K. Lomax (10), 5 up; W. A. Purdie (5) and A. E. Hough (11). 5 up; E. H. Hill (8) and L. S. Fifield (11), 5 up. Strong and McSherry won on the countback. HAGLEY LADIES’ CLUB Best scores in a bisque bogey held recently by the Hagley Ladies’ Club were as follows:—Miss N. Taylor (23), 3 up; Mrs J. G. Johnston (14), 1 up; Miss P. Leeming (27), 1 up; Mrs H. O’Reilly (22), 1 up; Mrs T. Wallace (20), 1 up.
