HARBOUR SWIMMING RACE

WIN FOR P. MCNALLY P. McNally swam a splendid race on Saturday morning in the Lyttelton Amateur Swimming Club’s annual harbour swim from the inner harbour at Lyttelton to Corsair Bay. The distance is approximately a mile and a half. Aided by a flood tide McNally djd the distance in 34 minutes 16 seconds, betl ering the record established some years ago by D. Moir, by 3 minutes 48 seconds. Turning into Corsair Bay McNally struck some floating object and sustained abrasions to the right forearm, elbow and thigh, but this did not affect his swimming. The result was:—P. McNally, 34min 16sec. 1; Len Lloyd, 46min 35sec, 2; M. Dromgoole, 47min ssec, 3; I. Watkins. 49min 32sec, 4; Les Lloyd. 49min 54sec, 5; B. Lean, 53min 35sec, 6; R.
