LIFE SAVING

AUSTRALIAN TEAM TO VISIT N.Z. (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 5. The Australian surf life-saving team which is to contest three tests in New Zealand against New Zealand representatives has assembled at Bondi and will leave for Auckland on Monday night. It was hoped to get in some concentrated training in New Zealand methods before leaving, but the first rain in Sydney for some weeks has fallen steadily all the week-end. The former Australian belt champion, D. Morrison, brought his own special waxed line from Western Australia, but the team manager, V. Besomo, ruled that it would not be taken because of additional weight in the baggage. The Australian team believes that waxed lines are not used in New Zealand and the new line sent on with a reel to New Zealand for the use of the team is not waxed. The Australian captain has not yet been announced.
