®ec. 12.45 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 30. All ef Western Europe is in the grip of a cold wave, with snowstorms and gales. Most capitals have reported temperatures below freezing point
Seventeen Norwegian fishermen are feared to be dead as a result of a nurricane which swept over their fishing fleet off northern Norway. Snow and rainstorms, with gales *eacmng 75 miles an hour, swept across Italy in the last 24 hours. Three Persons were killed and much damage caused.
Snow began falling in Scotland and {he north of England to-day. Conunumg cold and snow showers are forecast for the rest of Britain.
