On Approval lost his chance when he broke at the start. Henry of Navarre was on his toes as the field lined up. but he soon struck his gait when the barrier was released to be third to Islaburn Lass and Trustee at the end of the first furlong. -Henry of Navarre soon joined Islaburn Lass in the lead, and with four furlongs to go they were followed by Trustee, Positive, Jack Peterson, Lady Averil, Dragoman, Ada Scott, Duncraig, Victory Globe, and On Approval. Islaburn Lass was under pressure over the last two furlongs, and she finished gamely to win by a length from Lady Averil. Then came Direct Heir, Trustee, Ada Scott, Positive, Henry of Navarre, Dragoman, On Approval, and Victory Globe.
