MAN’S BODY FOUND IN HARBOUR

A man who has not yet been identified was found in Lyttelton Harbour yesterday at 7.30 p.m. Persons on Gladstone Pier noticed the body in the water and it was brought on to the wharf, where artificial respiration was tried unsuccessfully. Papers in the man’s pocket carried the name of Albert James Allen, a war pensioner, of Christchurch. The police are making inquiries about the man’s identity.
