At the half mile Western Front was a length in front of Lord Elgin, with Night Owl, bir Abbot, Sir Garnish, Infatuate. Signal Officer, and Valley Gold, the only others with chances. At the straight entrance Western Front was just shading Lord Elgin with Night Owl, Valley Gold, and Signal Cfficer prominent. Lord Elgin drew up to Western Front near the furlong and in a hard finish he did a shade the better to secure a head decision. Night Owl was lengths back third, a length clear A f n Va Jl ey Gold - Next to finish were Broie, AH Alone, Infatuate, Fine Night, Signal Officer, Helio. She was not asked for her best to win by three lengths from Gold Song which finished strongly to cut Pageantry out of third filace. Kiloney was always handy to the eaders and finished fourth ahead of Knight Crusader and Cloister.
