22 DAYS SPENT IN OPEN BOAT

SHIPWRECK SURVIVORS RESCUED (Rec. 9 p.m.) BOGOTA (Colombia), Dec. 25. Three shipwrecked men who had been in an open boat for 22 days were rescued yesterday and taken to hospital at San Andres Island. They were seriously ill from starvation and exposure. "The men were described as survivors from the auxiliary sailing ship Mary V, which sank in high seas on December 2, a day after leaving Colon. A lifeboat with the three men was sighted by a fishing boat, and the men were picked up. The authorities at San Andres Island ordered a careful search of the area where the boat was found for other possible survivors from the Mary V.
