WAR MEMORIAL IN LONDON
AUSTRALIA TO SPEND £25,000 (Rec. 7 p.m.) SYDNEY. Dec. 23. An Australian war memorial commemorating the deeds of the fighting services and the merchant navy in the Second World War will be erected outside Australia House, London. The ccst, estimated at £25,000, will be borne by the Commonwealth Government. An Empire-wide contest will be conducted for a suitable design.
