“MYSTERY” WARSHIP IN U.S.

COMPLETION DELAYED (Rec. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON. December 22. The United States “mystery” warship, the Kentucky, will not be completed at present. This was announced by the United States Navy to-day. The Kentucky was laid down in 1942 as a sister ship to the 45,000-ton battleship, the Missouri. Construction has been halted several times. The Navy in 1947 announced that she was being redesigned as a floating base for launching guided missiles. The com nletion of the vessel up to second deck level, was ordered in 1948. but no details have teen made public on work since that time.
