NEW REGIME IN CHINA
NATIONALISTS’ REQUEST TO BRITAIN (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dee. 23. The Chinese Embassy in London today sent a Note to the Foreign Office asking Britain pot to prejudice the Nationalist Government’s case before the United Nations by recognising the new Chinese Communist Government. A message from Ottawa says the Prime Minister of Canada (Mr Louis St. Laurent) said that Canada would take no action on the recognition of the Chinese Communist regime until after the Commonwealth Conference, which will open in Ceylon on January 9.
