WOULD LIKE TO REVISIT BRITAIN (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 23. “Miss New Zealand, 1949,” Miss Mary Woodward, of Taranaki, rc :rned to New Zealand in the Akaroa from London this morning. She said that her tour in Britain had been exacting but most pleasant and interesting. and she would like to return to England and see at more leisure the cathedrals and other sights. Her most memorable occasion was being presented at a Victoria League reception to the Queen. “Her Majesty is so charming and dignified and intensely interested in what people have to say,*’ said Miss Woodward. She was met on the Akaroa this morning by her parents, and her programme to-day involved recording at the broadcasting studios this 'morning. a press conference this afternoon, and tea with the Prime Minister (Mr Holland). She returned with her parents by car to New Plymouth, where there will be a civic reception at 10 o’clock to-night.
