OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, December 23. The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a deep depression lies south of the Tasman -Sea and there are westerly conditions over New Zealand. Forecast to .5 p.m.: north to north-west winds, freshening during the day. Weather fair and warm. Further outlook: fair. WEST COAST The following is -the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Occasional showers. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine, though overcast at times, and there was a light north-east wind. The maximum temperature was 68.7 degrees. At midnight the sky was clear and there was a light north-west wind. The temperature was 62.4 degrees.
