JAPANESE PRESS COMMENT
(Rec. 10 p.m.) TOKYO, Dec. 22. “The fact that so many Japanese have died in Russian captivity may implant a deep sense of vengeance in the hearts of the Japanese.” said the Tokyo newspaper, “Jiji Shimpo,” commenting on the accusations against Russia by Mr William Sebald.
AH Japanese newspapers expressed clarm at the prospect that the surviving prisoners would have to endure another winter in Russian hands. Most anpeajed to the Russians at least to give the names of those who would not return to Japan.
