AMERICANS IN HUNGARY

WARNING ISSUED BY LEGATION “ SAFETY CAN NO LONGER BE GUARANTEED” BUDAPEST, December 21. All Americans living In Hungary—they are thought to number about 20— have been warned by their legation that their personal safety can no longer be guaranteed. They have been told that they must make their own decision to stay or leave. The British Minister in Budapest (Mr G. A. Wallinger) has been instructed to ask the Hungarian Government about the disappearance three months ago of a British woman journalist, Dr. Edith Bone. She is believed to be a British nationalised subject of Hungarian birth, who contributed to Left Wing journals.
