OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, Dec. 22. The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a trough of low pressure is moving on to New Zealand from the west. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate to fresh north-east winds, turning north-west later in the day; cloudy at first with scattered drizzle or light rain, improving in the afternoon; temperatures: mild. Further outlook: fair. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of % the South Island:— Weather unsettled with occasional rain or showers. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was warm and fine, with a strong easterly breeze. The maximum temperature was 67.0 degrees. At midnight the sky was overcast and there was a light south-east wind. The barometer at 29.613 inches (1002.8 millibars), was steady. The temperature was 60 .
