CIRCUS ARRIVES AT LYTTELTON
For the first time the Lyttelton Harbour Board’s crane-ship Rapaki was used yesterday in unloading a circus. The heavy gear and animals of Wirth’s Circus were brought to Lyttelton yesterday from Wellington by the coastal ship Katui. The elephants, six in number, walked ashore without incident. The ordinary lifts were taken by the electric cranes but the Rapaki took all the heavy lifts. The circus ponies arrived by the steamer express the previous day. The circus train left Lyttelton yesterday afternoon for Waimate.
