UNITED NATIONS APPEAL FOR CHILDREN
Sir.—The Oxford County Council has announced to the public "that all books used in the appeal for children were forwarded to Wellington, and the local committee had received no information from Wellington concerning the audit." FiVe months ago the council received a letter from ths Dominion treasurers. Wellington, as did an Oxford resident now living in the North Island. Both letters referred to the work done by the Audit Department (and its inspector In Christchurch), which has carried out the audit, and stated that, according to the Audit Department’s information, there was an amount not account’d for, but endeavours were being made to have it banked to the credit of the appeal. In fairness to the U.N.A.C.. and all those who had worked for it, the council’s announcement should be rectified.—Yours, etc.,
