ALLIED COUNCIL IN JAPAN
MEETINGS LAST FOR 30 SECONDS
(Rec 8 p.m.) TOKYO, November 22. The Allied Council in Japan to-day completed the business of its onehundredth meeting In less than 30 seconds, demonstrating, in the opinion of many observers, the impotency of tne once powerful body formed to help General MacArthur to conduct the occupation of Japan. For the 23rd successive meeting, there was nothing on the agenda. The last discussion was nearly a year ago, when the Russian representative, Lieu-tenant-Geheral Derevyanko, questioned the alleged growth of the Japanese police force and indicated dissatisfaction at the reply of General MacArthur’s representative. British, Russian, Chinese, and American representatives however, continue to meet in Tokyo every second Wednesday morning and adjourn 30 seconds later.
