OBITUARY
MR L. MCILVRIDE (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 14'. Mr Lewis Mcllvride uied recently at the age of 67. He was a former secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, and from 1922 to 1925 was member of Parliament for Napier. Mr Mcllvride was born in Glasgow. He was an international footballer and a champion club swinger and side drummer. He spent some time in Canada in the employ of the Canadian Pacific Railways before coming to New Zealand in 1908. He was employed by A. and G. Price, of Thames, and by the New Zealand Railways. He later held office in the Amalgamated Society of Engineers. MR G. AGNEW (New Zealand Press Association) * INVERCARGILL, November 14. Mr G. Agnew, a member of the Invercargill City Council, died suddenly at a meeting of the council this evening. He was a teacher bv profession, and was particularly well known in Rugby football and cricket circles. He was a prominent Rugby referee until a few years ago. He was a returned servicemen of the First World War. and during that war was selected for Brigadier-General Dunsterville’s force, which was sent on a special mission to Persia.
