New Zealand Orphanages

There are 75 registered children’s institutions, caring for 2500 dependent children, of whom just over 4 per cent, are orphans, according to Mr H. C. Mathew, formerly of the Justice Department. Mr Mathew gave a broadcast talk last evening on the care of children who were deprived of their homes.
